Fast Logistics successfully transported several pieces of heavy machinery from Kuwait to the port of Lomé, Togo. The cargo included excavators and bulldozers that exceeded standard weight and size restrictions due to their out of gauge dimensions. A sales executive from Fast Logistics supervised the loading process utilising two 40-foot flat rack containers and one 20-foot flat rack container. Proper loading and lashing of the cargo was critical due to the overweight and oversized nature of the machinery. The team demonstrated good knowledge and planning in how they packed and secured the excavators and bulldozers for the ocean transit.
All lashing materials used to secure the cargo met ISO certification standards and included belts, chains, and wood. Additionally, the work was surveyed by a Lloyd’s approved inspector to ensure compliance with shipping regulations. Through the use of certified lashing equipment and materials, as well as qualified supervision of the loading process, Fast Logistics was able to transport the three containers of machinery over sea in a total transit time of 45 days to successfully deliver the cargo to its final destination of Lomé, Togo. Proper planning and adherence to industry standards allowed the company to safely and efficiently move the oversized excavators and bulldozer across multiple vessel transits to reach their international destination on schedule.
